Lili Zhang Zhao grew up in Hangzhou — the ancient starting point of the Silk Road, where her grandmother's silk house shaped her earliest memories. Silk was not decoration. It was a living craft, passed hand to hand.
After fourteen years designing for Kate Spade and Cole Haan in New York, Lili made a deliberate choice: to revive the endangered crafts she grew up with, and give them a new life through modern design.
